Mums and microwaved tea

A supportive and informative group open to all mothers
Monday 23rd March
10:00 - 11:30

Location: Hervines Park Pavilion, Amersham HP6 5HU

Do you often microwave your tea because you’re so rushed off your feet that it goes cold?

Have you been a mum for some time yet still find you miss your own time and independence?

Have you sometimes felt like you’ve had an (identity) crisis since becoming a mum?

For me, the title of this group sums up the impact of motherhood on my life: going from finishing cups of tea while they were still hot (pre-children) to microwaving them because they’ve gone cold (hello motherhood). And yet in those minutes of the tea going from steaming hot to lukewarm, I’ve put on a load of washing, hung the previous one up, emptied the dishwasher, thrown some ingredients together for dinner and gotten my children dressed for the day. It’s amazing how much can be done in these minutes but frustrating that it’s at the expense of my tea 😊

Motherhood is one of, if not the biggest, life changes a woman will experience. Some days parenting can feel like a breeze; joyful and satisfying. Others can be so demanding that it feels like it comes at the expense of more than just a cup of tea, like your sense of self. Perhaps you have felt a loss of your old self, your old life, your independence and perhaps on some days it feels like you don’t want to be a mum, even if just for a few minutes.  This supportive, psycho education group is open to all mothers who would find it useful to know more about these psychological challenges, and how to cope with them. You might have a newborn or you might have school-aged children –everyone is welcome. Tea and cake will be available….. and the tea will not be microwaved!

£12 per person. To book a place, or if you have any further questions, please email:
